the one with a national championship

Howdy! I am so happy to tell y'all that the Fightin Texas Aggie women's basketball team are now the NCAA Champions! It was such an exciting game last night and I hope everyone caught it. The Lady Ags definitely scared me in the last 10 minutes of the first half, but thankfully they pulled together and did work during the second half. Seeing them win the championship game when so many people didn't think we even had a chance makes me so proud to be an Aggie! Heck, half the time on TV and even from other Big 12 coaches, we were being called Texas Tech. Um excuse me? Please don't insult my school like that. Now they better get our name right! WE ARE TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! And don't you forget it!!

I am so pumped that we won and what a fabulous way to end my senior year. It is a moment I will never forget and I know the university won't forget for a long time. I hope y'all watched the coverage because one of my favorite moments (besides Tyra White knocking down that 22 footer) was watching Coach Gary Blair do the dougie. That seems to be the official dance of A&M now, even our school president has been seen doing it. Here is a highlight of last night's dance (watch it!):

Today was an awesome day to be in Aggieland. The team arrived back around 2 o'clock this afternoon and the whole town/campus was encouraged to be at Reed Arena to welcome them back. So that's what I did and it was totally worth missing the first half of my class for.  It was one of the best moments of my Aggie career and I am so blessed to have been able to take part in it. We started out with the Hullabaloo band, and a mini Fightin Texas Aggie yell practice, and then the team and coaches arrived. You should have heard the place it was going crazy! A little more than half of Reed was full, such a sweet moment. Everyone in Aggieland is extremely proud of these girls and all the hard work they do. I have some videos and pictures that I'll post at the end, but I wish I could have recorded the whole thing. Especially when Coach Blair spoke and some of the players, including Danielle Adams, Sydney Colson, Sydney Carter, and Tyra White. To top it all off, at the end of the ceremony President Loftin and Coach Blair were on stage having a dance off, doing the dougie and the bernie. It was hilarious! For all my fellow Aggie undergrads, you missed it! And for my old Ags, here are a couple of videos to make you feel as if you were there.

Welcoming the team back!

And here's a highlight of today's ceremony, enjoy!

I had a couple more pictures, but they were off of my phone so they were not great quality.
We are the Champions!! Whoop!

Thanks, Gig 'Em, and God Bless!
