Who is the worst blogger in the history of blogging? That would be this girl. I'm so sorry for my blogging silence for the past couple months, but get excited because it's my goal to get ya caught up.
Posts to look forward to:
My A&M graduation (yep, I'm officially a former student!)
My summer (full of school and job searching)
My new job! (Starts soon!)
Some recent obsessions
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It sure is HOT in Texas. The past two days it has been 100 degrees. Yep, I envy everyone in cooler states. Can I come visit?

the one with a sorority banquet
Guess what I'm doing right now? I'm multitasking! Yay, go me! I know women are supposed to have this down already, but I am not one of them. I can barely walk and text at the same time, and even then I slow down to the pace of a grandma. I can't walk and drink anything, and I can't talk on the phone and have background noise of any kind or else I'll start concentrating on that. I guess I sort of have a.d.d. Like what was the point of this paragraph? Oh yeah, to say I'm being awesome and multitasking at the moment. I'm watching the Mavs game 6 and decided to do a blog post. Go Mavs!
Now on to the real post...
Every year, Phi Lamb has their end of the year banquet. This is a time where they honor seniors, officers, committee heads, and so forth. The main purpose of this post was to post pictures from the banquet. But I just wanted to add how amazing Phi Lamb was for me during my time at Texas A&M. I am so thankful I went to that first mock meeting my freshman year because it has been an amazing four years. I have met some of my best friends through this organization and had so many fun memories. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without it. It has helped me grow in my faith and has allowed me to worship weekly with my sweet sisters of the Lord. One of my best experiences of college, hands down.
I know in the end I grumbled about going to meetings, but every time I went, I was blessed immensely. I learned some lesson or I got to visit with a dear friend I hadn't seen in a while. All I have to say is the Lord knows what He's doing. He placed it on my brother's heart to introduce me to the organization and get me plugged in while a lonely freshman. He gave me great friends and allowed me to minister to underclassmen as a leader in the organization. He gave me a great covenant group where I could be completely vulnerable and I knew those girls had my back, along with wonderful accountability partners. And so many more things, but for now we'll just move on to the pictures...

Half of the best covenant group I had in Phi Lamb. I love all of you girls with all of my heart.
Kim, Courtney, me, Katherine, and Allison
I love this picture as much as I love you Elise Graham! I loved being a back row Baptist with you at meetings, such fun times.
Elise wanted us to act like we were 80s sitcom roommates who didn't like each other. At least I look like I don't like her...
Katherine Bravo is such a funny girl to hang out with.
The last of my pledge class. I think we originally started with like 100.
Courtney, my sweet friend of 4 years.
Carrie, my awesome little sister.
Casi and Stacey! I'm so glad to have you as friends.
Rachel and I always have to do a goofy picture.
Rachel, one of my best friends and favorite roommates!
BK, my infamous half-black friend.
Some more of my covenant group. I made two of them cry, it was awesome and hilarious.
Cristy and Michelle, my lovely sophomore friends who were constantly reminding me of how old I was.
What a great four years at Texas A&M University I had! Thanks to my friends who made it amazing and my parents who footed the bill :) Ya'll make my life so fun and I am extremely blessed!
BTW, while I was finishing writing this, the Mavs won the finals! Whoop! All my teams bringing home championships this year!

the one with Manny and the Rangers
Well, I guess I'd better get my blog post for the month done. A lot has been happening this month (and the end of April), but I've been pretty busy so I haven't gotten to write any. Here are a couple of fun things that have happened:
First of all, I met another celebrity! It must be my lucky year, I should go to Vegas or something. I met Rico Rodriguez, who plays Manny Delgado on ABC's comedy, Modern Family. He is from Bryan so while he was on break and visiting Texas, I decided to go meet him. I follow him on twitter, and he let people know where he was during those days. His sister was premiering her movie, "Prom", at the theater in Bryan so he tweeted he would be there to sign autographs. So of course, I had to go. I love that show! So I found some friends who were fans as well, and off we went. He's a cute kid and he's so small!

Next up, my family had an outing to the Ballpark in Arlington to watch the Rangers play. This just reminded me of my dislike of baseball. I mean, I'll watch it, but to me it's a boring sport. I'm definitely a football and basketball kind of girl. But that doesn't mean I won't support my Texas Rangers and love them still. Just not enough to watch every game.
Our good friend, Beth, and my mom
Sisters!
My grandmother and I
A few other things happened, but I've decided those are important enough to get their own post. Like for example, my college graduation...that was a pretty big deal.
Random side notes: If anyone is in need for some awesome music to start their summer off right, go buy Mumford & Sons album, 'Sigh No More'. It has been out for a little bit and I have had it on repeat for the past three or four months, but I'm still obsessed!
Also, the family that was kind enough to let me live with them while I interned at Second Baptist Houston a couple of summers ago were on tv! They recently moved to Budapest, Hungary for Larry's job and they were featured on House Hunters International. They are such an awesome family that loves the Lord and are kind, caring folks so I'm telling everybody to check out their episode. It came on May 26th, but I checked online and it will be showing again on June 27th and July 29th on HGTV. Set those dvr's people! I guess you could I know a few more celebrities now ;)

the one with celebrities
I think I must attract celebrities. Well, I guess they are not celebrities in the Hollywood sense. They are not movie or tv stars, but they are celebrities in their own field or should I say court. (If you remember in December, I met former President George H.W. Bush.) Well today I was running all over town looking for National Championship shirts for my family. It was a little annoying because they each wanted a different shirt and that required going to a few different stores and a couple of trips to the same store because they didn't have their shipments in yet. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to help my family and it did cut down on two weeks of shipping, but today I was tired, so kind of not in the mood. But I sucked it up to cross one more thing off my to-do list and have one less thing to worry about. I was walking out of CC Creations (my final stop of the day) and I see these girls like 30 ft away from me. And here is what happened next:
The thoughts running through my mind:
1) Oh. My. Gosh. I'm pretty sure that's Sydney Colson and Maryann Baker.
2) What should I do?
3) I'm dying to meet them.
4) I'm sure they are tired of being bombarded everywhere they go. They'll think I'm annoying.
5) But I can't just walk by without saying anything! I mean, they are like Aggie royalty right now.
6) Should I just walk by and say 'Congratulations'?
7) Or should I just walk by, give them a slight what-up? nod, and play it cool?
8) I don't want them to think I am a crazy fan.
9) Well, who cares what they think? I am a crazy fan.
10) Ahhh, ok crap. It's now or never. You have to make a decision, Amy. For once in your life, be decisive!
11) Oh well that man just stopped them and asked to take a picture of them. Surely, it's ok?
12) Screw it, I'm doing it. They won't even remember me after this.
13) Here goes nothing.
Yep, all that ran through my head and all in about 7 seconds. So I decided to walk over to them and introduce myself and snag a picture. After all, it would make my family and friends so jealous!
I walked up to them, and said "Hi, I'm Amy. Congratulations on the game the other night. Y'all did a great job." They introduced themselves (like I didn't know who they were) and asked me what was up. I replied "Oh, just here buying all of my family National Championship shirts. You know gotta keep them happy. They do pay for me to go to school here. (In my head: Oh my gosh, why did I add that last part? I just blab everything that pops into my head. I'm sure they don't care.) Anyways, I'm sorry to bother you, but could I possibly take a picture with you?"
We looked around the parking lot and realized there was no one around, so I suggested we walk back inside and see if one of the cashiers could take it for us. They were fine with this, since they were heading that way anyways, so we start walking the 30 ft back into the store. On the way back, they were so nice. Sydney asked me what year I was in school and I told her I was a senior. She probably thought I was a freshman the way I was practically drooling over them. Then she was asking me what I was going to do after graduation and so I told her, I was a basic failure as a senior because I didn't have a job yet.
Ok, I didn't say all that...I just said I didn't have a job yet, I was a business major, but I wanted to teach (Again, probably adding too much information). She asked if I wanted to stay in College Station, and I was like I'll go anywhere I can get a job. Then I proceeded to ask them what they were doing after graduation...but I was thinking, "Oh my gosh, I'm an idiot. Coach Blair announced yesterday that Sydney was invited to the draft." Thankfully, they were both very kind and did not point out my stupidity. Maryann said she was in the same boat as me, and Sydney said she hoped she would be playing basketball somewhere.
Finally, we arrived back inside and I asked the first person I saw to take our picture. Maryann made sure the lighting was okay, and after the picture was taken, they checked to make sure it looked good or if we needed to do another one. I don't look fabulous in it, but I didn't want to be that person that makes them take 17 pictures until it's perfect. I thanked them for being so gracious and allowing me to meet them. They were so nice! I wish I could be best friends with them.
So that was my celebrity run-in today. Pretty exciting stuff (except I seem to act like a complete dweeb around people who just won a national championship)! Normally, I try not to pay too much attention to student athletes, I don't want to give them a big head. But I think these girls are allowed a big head and need a little respect for the hard work they just did. I made sure I played it cool until I got back in my car, then I let out a little squeal. I mean, I just meet Sydney Colson and Maryann Baker!! National Champions in the flesh. All you Ags jealous yet? You should be! Here is the picture for proof, dear friends.

the one with a national championship
Howdy! I am so happy to tell y'all that the Fightin Texas Aggie women's basketball team are now the NCAA Champions! It was such an exciting game last night and I hope everyone caught it. The Lady Ags definitely scared me in the last 10 minutes of the first half, but thankfully they pulled together and did work during the second half. Seeing them win the championship game when so many people didn't think we even had a chance makes me so proud to be an Aggie! Heck, half the time on TV and even from other Big 12 coaches, we were being called Texas Tech. Um excuse me? Please don't insult my school like that. Now they better get our name right! WE ARE TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! And don't you forget it!!
I am so pumped that we won and what a fabulous way to end my senior year. It is a moment I will never forget and I know the university won't forget for a long time. I hope y'all watched the coverage because one of my favorite moments (besides Tyra White knocking down that 22 footer) was watching Coach Gary Blair do the dougie. That seems to be the official dance of A&M now, even our school president has been seen doing it. Here is a highlight of last night's dance (watch it!):
Today was an awesome day to be in Aggieland. The team arrived back around 2 o'clock this afternoon and the whole town/campus was encouraged to be at Reed Arena to welcome them back. So that's what I did and it was totally worth missing the first half of my class for. It was one of the best moments of my Aggie career and I am so blessed to have been able to take part in it. We started out with the Hullabaloo band, and a mini Fightin Texas Aggie yell practice, and then the team and coaches arrived. You should have heard the place it was going crazy! A little more than half of Reed was full, such a sweet moment. Everyone in Aggieland is extremely proud of these girls and all the hard work they do. I have some videos and pictures that I'll post at the end, but I wish I could have recorded the whole thing. Especially when Coach Blair spoke and some of the players, including Danielle Adams, Sydney Colson, Sydney Carter, and Tyra White. To top it all off, at the end of the ceremony President Loftin and Coach Blair were on stage having a dance off, doing the dougie and the bernie. It was hilarious! For all my fellow Aggie undergrads, you missed it! And for my old Ags, here are a couple of videos to make you feel as if you were there.

Welcoming the team back!
And here's a highlight of today's ceremony, enjoy!
I had a couple more pictures, but they were off of my phone so they were not great quality.
We are the Champions!! Whoop!
Thanks, Gig 'Em, and God Bless!

the one with mini roadtrips and lots of pictures
This past weekend, my old roommate and friend Jessica came into town and as always when she is in town, Rachel and I book up her weekend. We decided we wanted to take some senior pictures, go to First Friday in Bryan, among other fun things. So here is a recap of our weekend:
On Friday, we were discussing where we wanted to take pictures. Jessica mentioned that she heard Washington on the Brazos had pretty flowers this time of year, so the three amigos took off on a little roadtrip for a few hours. Washington on the Brazos is the birthplace of Texas and it is where the Declaration of Independence was signed back when we were a republic. It is a huge area of land located on the Brazos River and it has a replica of Independence Hall [where the declaration was signed], a museum, and a living history farm. We didn't really venture very far because we were all wearing dresses and didn't have comfortable walking shoes on, but we definitely want to go one day to see it all. We did happen to see the Independence hall and museum and drove by the living history farm, but that cost money so we passed. Disappointingly, it didn't have very many bluebonnets. I'm assuming this is because we haven't had rain in ages. Here are a few of our pictures from Washington on the Brazos:
After our trip to Washington on the Brazos, we spotted Martha's Bloomers in Navasota on the way home and decided to stop in and have a look. It was a cute place, but it also didn't have as many flowers as you'd think. But we got some pictures there as well...
After Martha's Bloomers, we made our way back to Aggieland. Jessica talked her brother into coming to be our photographer so we could get all 3 of us in pictures. And here are some of our pictures we took around campus.

The place was crawling with cats and Rachel loves them, so she was in heaven.
I love this bridge!
Lilly pads
I want these doors! I love the color!
Tea time
It's always party time when I'm around ;)
After Martha's Bloomers, we made our way back to Aggieland. Jessica talked her brother into coming to be our photographer so we could get all 3 of us in pictures. And here are some of our pictures we took around campus.
The Administration Building steps
This is one of my favorite pictures...we weren't even trying to make our heads the same height.
That floor was perfect for sliding, so of course that's what we did.
The Administration building has beautiful columns.
Siblings, and our photographer Travis. Thanks for helping out!
I was trying to fix my hair, but instead I look sassy.
The big Aggie Ring!
Gig 'Em!
We're excellent!
You know you want one. So pretty!
And of course, the classic jumping picture
After we were done taking pictures, we were starving, so we headed to downtown Bryan to eat at Casa Rod and check out First Friday. Unfortunately by that time our feet were killing us so after standing 40 minutes to get our table at the restaurant, we ate yummy Mexican food and headed back home. At least, we got to hear some of the cool bands playing at First Friday and we even saw some belly dancers...yikes. It was a fun filled weekend and I'm so glad I got to spend it with my best friends!
On a sidenote: For more pictures, check out my album (Senior Year - The Final Frontier) on Facebook. I didn't want to overload you on all of them! Special thanks to my awesome new MacBook Pro for letting me edit the photos and make them better!
Everyone go watch the women's NCAA championship game tonight. Support the Lady Ags! And beat the hell outta Notre Dame! Whoop!
